5 ways auto dealerships should be using snapchat now

You’ve created a Facebook presence, set up a Twitter account…so now what? The latest way to engage with social media dealership audiences comes in the form of video--and more specifically--real-time micro videos using Snapchat; an app targeted at 18 to 34 year olds. It’s a Millennial and Generation Z playground, and with the following quick tips, you can start to creatively and authentically connect with your next generation car buyer.

  1. Show Off your Inventory, and your Dealership

If you have people with mobile devices working at your dealership - you’ve got all you need to video your current New, Used, and Certified Pre-Owned Inventory. And why stop there, when you can interview your Service and Parts Departments team - or even conduct a tour of your dealership (including that free popcorn in the waiting room).  These videos only last 24 hours and give your sales team a great opportunity to craft a strong narrative of your dealership.

  1.  Share Instant Coupons or Deals

The app offers businesses the option to introduce a daily Snapchat-only coupon, or “Coupon Snap”, that can be used for dealership services such as oil changes, tire sales, or new vehicle specials. Encourage your viewers to screenshot the coupon or use a code for discounted service at your dealership.

  1. Promote Holiday Giveaways

The holiday season arrives at the blink of an eye. Send a holiday greeting card from your team to your followers or promote a special Snapchat Holiday Sales Event at your dealership. These snaps help reach your customers with a personalized touch, and reaches them during some of the busiest shopping days of the year.

  1. Bridge Those Social Channels

Don’t forget to let your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter followers know you are on Snapchat. By offering exclusive deals to Snapchat followers, you can grow your Millennial and Gen Z car buyer audience and show that you are tuned-in to the latest trends and technology.

  1. Highlight New Buyer Experience

Buying a car for the first time (or second or third) is an exciting experience for anyone. Have your customers take a picture or video with their own Snapchat account to show off their latest purchase! Once these buyers tag your dealership, you will have access to these videos to make your own Snapchat story that now highlights ….you guessed it...your happy buyers.

Snapchat is easy, fun, and a highly relevant social media tool that, with the right strategy, can create instant audience interactions that lead to long-term customer engagement.
